What are the KES Library Assistants reading?

The Edge Chronicles
The Edge Chronicles series is for young and old. Join Quint, Twig, and Rook on the mysterious Edge. Battle the ancient Gloamglozer, cuddle with Banderbears, experience the Edge and you will soar!

The Twitches
I am reading The Twitches. So far, it is a really good book. I really don't want to spoil it, but it is sort of sad too.

Warriors: Into the Wild
Rusty, a kittypet, ventures too far away from his home and is attacked by a wild cat. Join Rusty as he becomes wild himself in Warriors: Into the Wild.

1000 Things You Should Know About Science
There are lots of really good books at this library. I really like the 1000 Things You Should Know About Science series. I like the picture of Einstein.

Pink Shirt Day at KES

February 29 is anti-bullying day at Kinnikinnick Elementary School. Everybody is wearing pink clothing to honor this kid who got bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school to support his mom who had breast cancer.  These three kids called him foul names and made mean jokes about him. Then some other kids who witnessed the scene went to all the thrift stores that they could find, stood outside the school doors and encouraged everyone to wear a pink shirt to stand up to the bullies. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!!!!

100 day

It is 100 day at school today for the primary students. I'm pretty sure K to 3 grades should bring in something that has 100 items on it. The primary students are really excited.

INDIGO LOVE OF READING GRANT

Did you know that one of our teachers, Ms. Lisa Kennedy, applied and successfully obtained an Indigo Love of Reading grant for our school? This means that our school classrooms and library have funds to choose a TON of great, new books.

Be sure to write down the title of any books you'd like to see in our library collection and drop it in the library 'Book Wish Jar'. Also, make sure to give Ms. Kennedy a BIG thank-you for this special opportunity.

KES Library is Open!

We are pleased to have the Kinnikinnick school library open again. Our current collection of books is from the former Sechelt Elementary School collection and we are working hard to add the Kinnikinnick books to our shelves as soon as possible. You can now search the library’s collection online. Please click here to search the collection and choose the link for Kinnikinnick Elementary School.
